11:03 am - Will be Australian tomorrow
How weird is that, from tomorrow i will be able to refer to myself as Australian - but is it just a peice of paper or does it really mean something? Very diffiecult to know - am still not sure how i fell about the whole thing. Ah well will just have to ea t lots after to compensate.

Post netball events last nite were rather bizzare. Firstly involved eating at Chooka's a 'classy' chicken establishment at the bottom of station road - they do get bonus point though for supplying free sauce :)
Afterward about 2 hours were spent with 8 of us crammed into 1 car - 1st Tori's and then Sam's. It really give new meaning to the idea of only allowing your friends into your personal space. 8 in one car - there really wasn't too much space to be had. Added to that we h ad all just been playing netball so were not at our best smelling. Was most insulted when the spikyness of ny unshaved legs was mentioned. They weren't that bad! I really do not have time to shave often enough to keep them in prime condition. Bah stupid g uys.

Also managed to injure myself again and now ahve a beuatifully swollen finger to match the ankle - unfortunalty these things tend to happen in 3's. So who knows what the hell i am going to do to myself whilst skiing.

11:06 am - Saturday morning fun at uni
So here i am at uni, supposedly working on my three assignments, but i got a little side tracked. Who really wants to research dendritic cells and TNF beta anyway? Especially on a Saturday. My computer at home is feeling very sorry for itself and is not functioning particularly well, which is why i am here sitting in the Biol library.

On thursday night Netball was washed out (v. sad had been looking forward to it for ages), so after eating yummy pizza cafe pizza we were forced to go to Annes house and sit through XXX (triple X the movie for those of you who are lucky enough not to know what that is). I really do not see the attraction in Vin Diesel, way too beefy - really nothing compared to the Seaquest DSV captain who at least had brains and could get out of sticky situations without blowing everything up and relying on crappy special effects like snowboarding faster than an avalanches. Wow that was a rather long sentence :0 !

Then last night we had a yummy dinner at the Himalayan Cafe in the Valley, good fun had by all, although there were rather a lot of toasts made to pendulous breasts. Oh the anatomy jokes they crack me up.

5:39 pm - Back to uni
So have been back at uni for 2 days now - not too bad, but am buggered. Having to use the brain again and getting up earlier (especially getting up extra early to go swimming). Four hours of sleep is really not enough if you are going to be active the next day.

And then there is the UQ union diary that lists all the important days that we will need to commemorate this year:

21st March:
National Harmony Day and
International day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

(Isn't it a bit presumptous to celebrate national harmony day if we havent eliminated racism yet, they could have left a week or so for some elimination to occur!)

6th May:
International No Diet Day

Woohoo

26th May:

National sorry day

3rd June:

Mabo Day (Who the hell is Mabo?)

8th August:

Abortion Rights Day

13th August:

Ekka Day :)

1st September:

Body-image and eating disorder awareness week

8th September:

Queer Fest UQ

23rd September

International celebrate bisexuality day Tori thought it said international celebate bisexuality day.

October

Mental health awareness month and
Sexual violence awareness month (need to be very aware in
October!!!)

8th October

International Lesbian Day

11th October

National coming out day - anyone see a problem here, how
can you celebrate Lesbian Day if you haven't had a chance
to come out yet?

4th November:

Melbourne Cup Day

16th November:

International Day of Tolerance

20th November:

International Trans-gender day of rememberance.
"Memorising those lost to anti transgender hate crimes" Yes those are exactly the words in the diary!

25th November - December 10th

16 days of activism on gender violence.

What a lot we have we have to look forward to in the coming months, see you all at the memorising ceremony on the 20th of November!!!

11:17 am - Need sleep
Hmm eight hours of sleep in two days - not good. am very very tired :(

Late nite was kind of crazy - large amounts of jelly being consumed, leading to extreme sugars highs and a overly bitchy game of pictionary (Damn Gherkin draws a good toaster, Toris lighthouse on the other hand was a tad questionable)

Ok going to sleep now.

4:25 pm - Boardgames - hurrah
Well great nite of board/card games last nite - although playing TORI'S GAMES (thats what it is now officially called) with 8 people was just a little crazy.
Anne, Sarah and i topped that by playing today in the middle of the Indooroopilly food court. Wh en we reached the stage of putting the cards on our heads i am sure we got some funny looks from many people.

I woke up this morning to find the remains of many m & m's mashed all over my lounge floor. The culprits know who you are - am giving you evil d eath stares right now.

Am now in the ILC yet again, where else do i post from! And today of course - the day i get hundreds of people looking for help is the day that my si-net is crashing horribly. BAH. You just can't win can you.B.

4:53 pm - So the ILC
Well back again in the ILC - helped 2 people this time. Yay! thats a 200% increase on last time - how productive am I!

Last night was great at Sarahs house, playing Articulate until all hours of the night - Gherkin seemed to be the weakest link. Every te am she was on lost :(

And then there was the random bowling game this arvo where various famous biblical characters and Ian gathered for one rushed game of bowls. The Arc unfortuatly defeated David (damn i knew i should have been the whale), but all seem ed to enjoy. The weighing machiny thing that cost 40c was not very popular after telling most of us how over weight we are. (It was all the bowling shoes i tell you!!!)

Well it is 5 so i can get out of here. Yay! Onwards to the debating adjudicators trai ning at Terrace ... e…

10:15 am - Oh to be mexican
So after a hideous day of work yesterday where my boss kept on finding inane things for me to do, just to keep me there until 5:10 when the traffic is at its worst. Then it took me an hour and a half to get from Red Hill to Chapel Hill. Stupid rain and traffic!!!
God they are both hills i think what i need is a plane so i can fly between them.
Needless to say i turned up late at my Mexican party only to find that the other 25 people there had also brought Nacho's - a plate of Mexican food was specified. It was quite hard to purchase those Nachos too - trying to talk on your mobile - in woolies where the reception is crap to begin with - whilst holding a bag of Doritos, a jar of salsa and a jar of Guacomole and a wallet. I think at some stage the Doritos ended up under my chin - which did make talking difficult.

Well after that eventually made it to the party. Had fun! Much time was spent in huge Mexican sombreros pretending to have interesting conversations that other people couldn't here due to the large nature of the said sombrerros (can't spell that i know!)
Also drinking lots of Tequila sunrises - in my expert opinion using Orange juice is the way to go, apple, tequila and red cordial taste foul. We only resorted to apple when the orange ran out. It was quite interesting how the ratios changed over the course of the night - the drunker people get the less they care about the alcohol and more about the pretty red colour that the drink turns when red cordial is added. I think most people ended up drinking plain red cordial after a while.

Well a fun night, although i did end up with a semi stalker who thought my name was Angie.

2:28 pm - The goings on in ILC 1
So am sitting all alone at the lectern in ILC 1. Am supposed to be helping Newbies inroll - but there is no one here to help :(

Maybe they all shy away from wet weather because their miniscule little clothes offer no protection and the rain will wash awa y the makeup layers revealing their true hideous selves. (Ok so maybe i am going a little weird - spending time alone in ILC 1 is obviously detrimental to your mental well being)

Oh well at least i a getting paid, $18 an hour for playing around on the c o mputer - not bad, but is it really be worth it if i go mad in the process?

current mood: blank

4:22 pm - Yay for first day of real holiday tomorrow
So after a night of piking, hung around at Anne's house for many an hour. Left Anne and Alex stuffing them selves with their second sweet chili twisted delight. So am now home and after dropping the brother off at his youth group thingy i think i am going to sit back relax and maybe watch Moulin Rouge - am really in a musical frame of mind after singing along to Chicago songs last night. That was a great movie - will need to invest in the DVD when it comes out.

current mood: relaxed
